About the Initiative
“Samman, Swabhimaan aur Samanta – Kinnaron ke liye ek nayi pehchaan”
Launched in 2017 and reignited in 2025 by Gauri Sulochana Foundation, Ek Samman is a transformative initiative dedicated to recognizing and empowering the transgender (Kinnar) community. From cultural recognition to legal support and healthcare access, it is one of North India’s earliest grassroots efforts focused entirely on restoring dignity to the most overlooked citizens of society.

At Gauri Sulochana Foundation, our vision through Ek Samman – Kinnaron Ke Naam is to create a world where transgender individuals are not just seen, but celebrated—where they receive the same respect, rights, and opportunities as every citizen. We envision a society built on dignity, equity, and the freedom to live with pride and purpose.
Mission
Our mission is to break down stigma and build platforms of empowerment for the Kinnar community. Ek Samman works to ensure access to education, healthcare, and livelihood while amplifying their voices through legal awareness, cultural engagement, and public recognition—fostering belonging, justice, and transformation.
